I Want It ... now !

Ok, so I defragged my pc using Iobit recently .. which led me to wonder something ...

The PC which I use the most has only 1 CPU - athlon 3200 - and I HD 120 gig - no games , and mainly Object Desktop installed ...

~ Yet it still took almost 4 hours to defrag and optimise ... this leads me to my question ..

~   What is the QUICKEST defrag program that I can download and use ... as Iobit takes such a long time .. an Hour and half is quite acceptable .. or less would be brilliant ....

Diskeeper Pro Premier 2008 here and I never have to defrag manually at all. It runs in the background while I'm not using the computer automatically

Well, i get the 2007 version and it defrag as well in background.
But i'm not really sure it does it correctly ...
Just one example: i use PageDefrag from SysInternals for system files defragmentation that Windows can't do ...
I just saw that Diskeeper, with the automatic background mode, is fragmenting back all those system files

I think i'll have a try with Auslogics Disk Defrag and for those interested in i found Auslogics Disk Defrag version 1.4.15.306 avaible in english, german & french

without exception, & I have pretty much tried every app to totally defrag + compact my drives, the O&O Defrag from Berlin, Germany has my endorsement as an incredibly powerful, efficient, user friendly + intuitive defragger loaded with options with a very clean + professional interface a la Office 2007 ;mind you it lays the foundation + is my default defragger & in tandem with occcassional manual sessions of DiskeeperLite + IObit Smart Defrag to enable total compaction, I enjoy O% ! frag ;bonus points the O&O works automatically in the background selecting the most appropriate actions to keep my drives frag free - it is high end but hey, one gets what one pays for ! . .. the Germans do it once again in setting the standard in tech excellence; hello Nero + DivX . . .

Diskeeper has worked the best for me so far. Even the background defrag feature works without any issues. And yes i think its very fast.

I just throwed away Diskeeper (2007) to the bin
OK it runs in background without trouble BUT, i just found it split up the System Windows files (specially hiberfil.sys & pagefile.sys + some others) which i defragment with Sysinternals PageDefrag on boot WWW Link, and above all, i also founded that even running in background 24/24 i got a statistic off "average fragments number per file = 1,02" (which is a lottttttttttttt)
Note: a manual defrag on same disk (which is a very new one) which is about 40 Go used on a 150 Go partition, takes nearlly 24 h

Though i just installed Auslogics Disk Defrag version 1.4.15.306, and it defraged 100 % of files in about 30 mn ...   it's freeware, and brings me back 6% of free RAM
